Crop Production Statistics and the quality of the grain harvest 2010

The grain harvest, 3.0 million tonnes, was the lowest in the decade. From year 2009, the grain crops decreased 30%. The decrease of crops was mainly attributed to the decreased cultivation area for grains (-16%).

The 1.3 million tonnes decrease in the grain crops was mainly in barley (-830 000 tonnes) but the oats crop (-305 000 tonnes) and the wheat crop (-160 000 tonnes) decreased from 2009.

The rye crop was higher than  year 2009, and it increased to 68 000 tonnes (+64%).

The turnip rape crop increased 35% while the oilseed rape crop decreased 9%. The crop for turnip rape was almost 160 000 tonnes and for oilseed rape 20 000 tonnes.
