Commercial fellings, 9/2024

In September, 5,8 million cubic metres of industrial roundwood was harvested. This was a quarter, or 1.2 million cubic metres, more than in September last year. In the period January-September, the volume of roundwood harvested was 2% higher than in the same period last year. 

  • Sawlog removals amounted to 3.0 million cubic metres and pulpwood removals to 2.9 million cubic metres.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests amounted to 4.7 million cubic metres, 34% more than in the previous year.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests amounted to 1.2 million cubic metres, 4% more than in the previous year.
  • Energywood removals totalled 625,000 cubic metres. Of this, 38% was delimbed stems and whole-trees.
