Commercial fellings, 7/2024

In July 2024, 3.8 million cubic meters of industrial roundwood were harvested, which was a record-high amount. The volume of removals was 17% higher than the average of the previous five years. The cumulative harvesting volume from January to July was at the same level as last year.

  • The removals of sawlogs were 1.7 million cubic metres and pulpwood removals 2.1 million cubic metres.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 2.9 million cubic metres, which was 25% more than in the previous year.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests were 0.9 million cubic metres, up 36% on the previous year.
  • Energywood removals was 507,000 cubic metres. Of this amount 36% were delimbed stems and whole-trees.
