Commercial fellings, 6/2024

In June 2024, 4.1 million cubic meters of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. The volume of removals was 4% higher than in June last year and 3% less than the average for the previous five years. Removals in the first half of the year were 1.2 million cubic metres behind last year, totaling 29.4 million cubic metres.

  • The removals of sawlogs were 2.0 million cubic metres and pulpwood removals 2.1 million cubic metres.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 3.1 million cubic metres, which was 3% more than in the previous year.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests were 0.9 million cubic metres, up 8% on the previous year.
  • Energywood removals was 713,000 cubic metres. Of this amount 35% were delimbed stems and whole-trees.
