In January 2022, a total of 5.7 million cubic metres of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. The removal volume was the same as the previous year and 6% less than the volume in January in the previous five years.
Sawlog removals were 2.4 million and pulpwood removals 3.4 million cubic metres. Compared with the average in January in the previous five years, sawlog removals were 6% and pulpwood removals 5% lower.
Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 4.9 million cubic metres. Standing sales accounted for 4.5 million and delivery sales for 0.4 million cubic metres.
The felling volume in forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests was 0.8 million cubic metres, up by 1% from the year before.
Energywood removals totalled 369,000 cubic metres, of which delimbed stems and whole-trees made up 283,000 cubic metres.
