In October 2022, a total of 6.2 million cubic metres of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. This removal volume was up 1% from the previous year and 3% from the five-year October average.

  • Sawlogs accounted for 3.1 million m³ and pulpwood for 3.1 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal. Compared with the average in October in the previous five years, sawlog removals were 8% higher and pulpwood removals were 2% lower.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 5.1 million cubic metres.
  • The felling volume in forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests was 1.1 million cubic metres.
  • Energywood removals totalled 558,000 cubic metres, of which delimbed stems and whole-trees made up 364,000 cubic metres.
  • In January-October, 51.9 million cubic metres of roundwood were harvested for use by the forest industries. This removal volume was down 3% from the previous year. Compared with the average in the previous five years, sawlog removals were higher 8% and pulpwood removals 6% lower.
