In October, 6.1 million m³ of roundwood were harvested for the use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was up 11% from the previous year and 4% from the five-year October average.
Sawlogs accounted for 3.1 million m³ and pulpwood for 3.1 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
Industrial roundwood removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were 5.0 million m³.
Forest industry companies and the state harvested 1.1 million m³ of roundwood from their forests.
In October, 524 000 cubic metres of wood was harvested for energy production.
In January-October, 53.6 million m³ of roundwood were harvested for use by the forest industries. This removal volume was up 17% from the previous year and 6% from the five-year average.
