Cereals balance sheet, 2020 - 2021 (provisional) and 2019 - 2020 final figures

  • A total of 3.3 million tons of cereals were harvested in 2020
  • Approximately 1.9 million tons, was used to feed livestock.
  • Approximately 456,000 tons was used for food production, with wheat accounting half - Oats use for food (144,000 tons) was more than rye (84,000 tons).
  • A total of 560,000 tons of cereals were exported and 11,000 tons imported during the year. The biggest export was oats at approximately 354,000 tons.

The figures for the 1 July 2020–30 June 2021 crop year are still provisional at this time, and a final cereals balance sheet will be published in September 2022.
