A total of 4.2 million tonnes of grain were produced in 2009, 3.1 million tonnes of which were used during the 2009–2010 crop year.
On 30 June 2010, grain stocks stood at 860 000 tonnes more than at the end of June 2009.
Half of Finland’s grain yield was used to feed livestock.
During the harvest year, the following amounts of grain were used as food: 262 000 tonnes of wheat, 91 000 tonnes of rye, 56 000 tonnes of oats and 10 000 tonnes of barley.
During crop year 1 July 2009 - 20 June 2010, 404 000 tonnes of oats were exported and 37 000 tonnes of rye were imported.
