Cereals balance sheet 2010 - 2011

•A total of 2.9 billion tonnes of grain were produced in 2010, 3.1 billion tonnes of which were used during the 2010–2011 crop year.

•On 30 June 2011, grain stocks stood at 1 366 000 tonnes less than at the end of June 2010.

•Two-third of Finland’s grain yield was used to feed livestock.

•During the harvest year, the following amounts of grain were used as food: 267 000 tonnes of wheat, 98 000 tonnes of rye, 66 000 tonnes of oats and 9 000 tonnes of barley.

•During crop year 1 July 2010 - 30 June 2011, 538 000 tonnes of barley were exported and 38 000 tonnes
