Adapted and resilient oats for northern periphery areas
ARCTIC OATS
A preparatory project funded by INTERREG NPA program. Natural Resources Institute Finland and Agricultural university of Iceland have received a total funding of 31594,57€ from ERDF.
Aim is to develop a project plan for improving the possibilities of oat cultivation in Northern periphery areas through plant breeding. The preparatory project is organised during 2023.
A consortium including plant breeding companies, research institutes and agrisector companies working within the northern periphery area will be formed.
The needs of the end-users will be gathered and based on these the best actions for the main project are determined. A workshop will be organised in Finland to gather all partner candidates for face-to-face planning. As a result of this preparatory project we will have a consortium that has sent a main project application the 3rd or 4th call of the Interreg Northern periphery funding.
