Utilised Agricultural Area 2015, regional preliminary data

Arable areas in 2015 based on the situation on 2 July 2015.

In 2015, the most significant changes in the use of the arable area in Finland (2.3 million hectares) will be that the grain cultivation area will decrease by 59,000 hectares, the turnip rape and rape area will increase by 14,000 hectares and the fallow area will increase by 27,000 hectares.

  • the cultivated area of cereals, 1,134,000 hectares, remains half of the entire area, but will decrease by 59,000 hectares
  • the area under oats, 303,000 hectares, is the second lowest since statistics have been compiled
  • the area under peas (12,300 ha) and area under broad beans (13,400 ha) will almost double
  • the area under turnip rape and oilseed rape (57,300 ha) will increase by a third
