Producer prices for fish species with catch quotas, 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter 2019

The producer price of salmon was 6.13 € / kg in the second quarter of 2019 and 5.86 €/kg in the third quarter, which was close to the annual average producer price of 2018, 6.08 € /kg.
The producer price of Baltic Herring intended for human consumption was 0.32 € / kg, which was somewhat higher than the average price at the beginning of 2018. Especially the price of large Baltic herring (12 – 17 individuals / kg) mainly used as smoked fish, was higher than that of 2018 in all three quarters.
The producer price of Baltic Herring defined as feed was 0.17 € / kg in the first and second quarters and rose to 0.18 € / kg in the third quarter, thus remaining roughly the same as the average producer price for 2018, which was 0.18 € / kg. Similarly, the price of sprat, which was mainly used as feed, remained at the same level as in 2018, being 0.18 € / kg.
The producer prices of fish species with catch quotas (salmon, Baltic herring, sprat) will be published four times a year in the statistics portal of Natural Resources Finland.
