Number of bovine animals, 1 December 2021

• The number of cattle at start of December was 830,000 which is slightly less than a year ago. The number of suckler cows, heifers and bulls increased, whereas that cows and cattle under 1 year decreased.
• The number of dairy cows was 248,500 which is three percent less than a year ago.
• The number of suckler cows was 62,000 (+2%).

The number of pig on 1st. December will be released later in the spring.
