Dairies received just under 2,151 million litres of milk, which was 2% less than in 2021.
The number of milk producers fell by 8% during the year. At the end of the year, there were 4 572 milk producers.
Milk production fell in all the regions of the ELY centres. Milk production was highest in North Ostrobothnia (371 million litres) and North Savo (310 million litres).
Milk production decreased in both the AB (-4%) and C (-2%) support areas.
As in the previous year, Kuopio produced the most milk (69 million litres). The next largest producers were Kurikka (60 million litres), Kiuruvesi (53 million litres) and Kokkola (50 million litres).
