Beef production decreased in all regions last year. As in the previous year, Kiuruvesi produced the largest amount of beef. Pork production increased, with the strongest growth occurring in the regions of South Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia. Uusikaarlepyy became the largest pork‑producing municipality.

  • Beef production decreased in all regions. In terms of volume, the largest declines were recorded in North Ostrobothnia, South Ostrobothnia and North Savo. A little over 81 million kilos of beef were produced last year, which was six percent less than in 2024.
  • The largest beef‑producing municipalities were, as in previous years, Kiuruvesi (3.1 million kg), Kuopio (3.0 million kg) and Kurikka (2.1 million kg).
  • Pork production increased to just under 164 million kilos. The strongest growth took place in the key pork‑producing regions of South Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia. However, in most regions production declined compared to the previous year, most notably in Southwest Finland.
  • Uusikaarlepyy became the largest pork‑producing municipality. It produced 12.4 million kilos of pork last year. The next largest were Huittinen (11.8 million kg) and Seinäjoki (11.7 million kg).
  • Lamb production continued to decline. Last year, approximately one million kilos of lamb meat were produced. The municipalities with the highest production were Salo (68,460 kg), Somero (32,270 kg) and Tervola (18,860 kg).
