Agricultural land rents 2021

Agricultural and horticultural companies paid an average of €233 per hectare for leased arable land in 2021. The data are based on field rental prices collected as part of the Agricultural Profitability Survey.

Differences between regions in field rental prices are large. In terms of NUTS2 region, the highest rental prices were in Western Finland, at EUR 280 per hectare. The lowest rental prices were in Northern and Eastern Finland, at 148 euros per hectare.

Compared to 2020, rental prices for the field have decreased in other regions, except Western Finland. At the countrYwide level, rental prices fell by an average of 6 per cent in face value. The biggest change in rental prices has been in Southern Finland, where rental prices fell by 16 per cent compared to 2020.
