Land purchase prices 2022

Agricultural and horticultural enterprises paid on average EUR 9 099 per hectare for agricultural land. The average price of agricultural land has increased at the whole Finland level by 1% compared to the previous year.

• Based on information by NUTS2 regions, the purchase prices were highest in Western Finland at EUR 10 504 and Southern Finland at EUR 9 875 per hectare. The purchase prices of agricultural land were lowest in Northern and Eastern Finland, EUR 6 488 per hectare.
• In ten years, the purchase prices have increased about 13 % in the whole of Finland.
• The data on land purchase prices is based on the National Land Survey of Finland’s purchase price statistics. The dataset includes purchases of unbuilt arable land that have been confirmed by a public purchase witness and cover an area of at least two hectares. Transactions between relatives have not been taken into account.
• Land purchase prices are calculated by NUTS area, and they are weighted by the total agricultural land area in the area in question (method defined by Eurostat).
