In 2025, weather conditions were favourable for open-field vegetable production, and the total harvest increased from the previous year’s dip, particularly thanks to a good carrot crop. Greenhouse cucumbers reached an all‑time record yield of 56 million kilograms.

  • In 2025, the total number of horticultural enterprises was 2,760.
  • Outdoor cultivation area was about 18,000 hectares and greenhouse area 350 hectares.
  • In terms of cultivation area, the most important open ground vegetables were garden pea 4, 047 ha (1,665 ha of this frozen pea) carrot 1, 691 ha and onion 1,277 ha.
  • The total harvest of outdoor vegetables amounted to 194 million kilos, of which 78 million kilos were carrots.
  • Berry production was 18 million kilos, the most important was strawberry, 13 million kilos.
  • The amount of greenhouse vegetables produced was 96 million kilos, of which 56 million kilos were cucumber and 36 million kilos were tomatoes. Special tomatoes produced near seven million kilos.
  • The cultivation area of ornamental plants in greenhouses totalled 105 ha.
