Egg Production Statistics, Q4 2009

• During Oktober-December, egg production fell by 4% on the corresponding period of 2008.
• Egg production last year stood at 53.4 million kilos, which is 7.5% less than the year before.
• Compared to the year before, the volume of barn eggs (12%) and organic eggs (12%) rose, but decreased in hens houses with battery cages (-12%).

Egg production does not include direct sales or home use at egg-producing farms.
