Crop Production Statistics and the quality of the grain harvest 2019 (advance information)

Normal cereal harvest in 2019 following lowest harvestyear in 2000s. The grain harvest was 4.0 million tons, i.e. 46% higher than in the previous year.

  • Totalling 1.682 million tons, the barley harvest increased by 26%
  • Totalling  1.176 million tons, the oats harvest increased by 44%
  • Totalling 900,000 tons, the wheat harvest increased by 82%
  • Totalling 180,000 tons - the rye harvest was four times higher than in 2018
  • The potato harvest, 604,000 tons, corresponded to that of last year
  • The broad bean harvest (30,000 tons) was, almost 23% higher year-on-year

The information will be reported as final in March 2020, when the confirmed data supplied by farms included in the sample will become available for the calculation of harvest volumes.
