Commercial fellings, 4/2024

In April 2024, 4.1 million cubic meters of roundwood was harvested for industrial use.  The volume of removals was 12% lower than in April last year and 11% lower than the average for the previous five years. From January to April, a total of 22.1 million cubic meters of industrial wood was harvested. This was 5% percent less than the previous year and 3% percent less than the average for the preceding five years.

  • The removals of sawlogs were 1.5 million cubic metres and pulpwood removals 2.5 million cubic metres.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 3.1 million cubic metres, which was 16% less than in the previous year.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests were 1,0 million cubic metres, up 3% on the previous year.
  • Energywood removals was 392,000 cubic metres. Of this amount 88% were delimbed stems and whole-trees.
