In December, a total of 4.9 million cubic metres of roundwood was harvested for industrial use. Compared to previous year's December, the removal volume was 14% lower. In January-December, a total of 58.6 million cubic metres of industrial wood was harvested. This removal volume was down 9% from the five-year average.

  • Sawlogs accounted for 2.1 million m³ and pulpwood for 2.8 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removals.
  • Industrial roundwood removals from non-industrial private forests were 3.9 million cubic metres, down by 16% from the previous year.
  • The removal volume in forest industry companies’ forests and state-owned forests was 1.0 million cubic metres, down by 7% from the previous year.
  • Energywood removals totalled 339,000 cubic metres, with delimbed stems and whole trees comprising 74% of this amount.  
  • In January-December, 58.6 million cubic metres of roundwood were harvested for use by the forest industries. This removal volume was down 8% from the previous year and down 9% from the five-year average.
  • Log removals were 26.0 and pulpwood 32.6 million cubic metres. Compared with the average in the previous five years, sawlog removals were 6% and pulpwood removals 11% lower.
  • A total of 5.5 million cubic metres of energy wood were harvested.
