The aim of the Wood for Good (W4G) project was to strengthen knowledge about the health effects of wood on human and thus improve the competitiveness of wood material in the construction market. With the help of an multidisciplinary consortium, the effect of wood material on people and the indoor environment was studied by physiological and psychological measurements as well as indoor environment quality measurements. The contribution of the use of wood to well-being in public debate and decision-making was examined through media analysis and interview research. Finally, new research data were used as a basis for calculating the economic impact of wood welfare effects. The W4G project was divided into two work packages, which were 1. The impact of wood material on people and 2. Understanding of decision-making processes and financial calculations.
