Improving the environmental efficiency of Finnish beef production with forage-based diets

There is an increasing societal demand for research involving greenhouse gas emissions and nutrient excretion from ruminant livestock. This project will integrate expertise and methodologies to create new information for increasing the sustainability, productivity and resilience of Finnish beef production. The project will use published mean treatment data to explore pathways for improved beef production. State-of-art statistical methods will be used to develop models for predicting the impact of on-farm feeding and management practices on productivity and environmental footprint.
