Conservation of forest genetic resources

The project is responsible for implementing the national program on plant genetic resources, for forest trees. The main practical approaches are in situ conservation in gene reserve forests and ex situ conservation in living collections. Essential part of the work is cooperation with other European countries and participation in international processes. The project also maintains forest genetic register which serves breeders and researchers as well as gene conservation.
