The Eastern Finland Wood Products Cluster project strengthens cooperation and networking between actors in the wood sector in order to promote industrial wood construction in Eastern Finland. The project develops the wood products sector by promoting the spread of industrial wood construction solutions, developing new innovations and better use of material in industry. The project develops new operating methods and new business, and raises the level of expertise in the field. The result of the project is a diverse network of wood product operators in Eastern Finland, which cooperates on many different levels. The main project is carried out by the city of Kuhmo, Woodpolis. Sub-projects are implemented by Naturpolis Oy, a development company in northeastern Finland, the Unit of Measurement Technology (MITY) of the University of Oulu in Kajaani, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK), and the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) in Joensuu and Savonlinna.
