External organic matters for climate mitigation and soil health - EOM4SOIL
The main aim of EOM4SOIL is to gain knowledge of the characteristcs, processing and use of external organic matter sources (EOMs), e.g. digestates, biochars and compost to mitigate climate change by increasing organic matter content and improving productivity of agricultural soils.
The project is coordinated by INRAE and implemented with 12 partner organizations. Luke is a partner as well as WP and task leader. Luke's work will focus on the processing of external organic matter sources into soil amendments and fertiliser products through anaerobic digestion and pyrolysis. The produced EOMs will be further analysed for their C sequestration potential. Luke will also participate in quantifying sidestream flows in EU and denomination task of the external organic matter sources.
The project gains knowledge of the different processed organic sidestreams and their processing options on the carbon sequestration potential for mitigating climate change. It also provides knowledge to select the most beneficial sidestream and processing option. More information about the project: [https://ejpsoil.eu/soil-research/eom4soil]
