Assessing and valuing ecosystem services for managing hydropower constructed rivers systems

EcoRiver

The aim of the project is to assess the effects of short-term regulation of hydropower plants on hydrological conditions and habitats in large and small power river basins. The value of hydropower in a changing energy market, including demand elasticity and new energy sources is modeled. In addition, the values of associated ecosystem services are mapped through surveys. As a result of the project, an assessment framework will be created that can be used to develop environmental objectives for target water bodies for hydropower production.
