CLT Access Matting

The aim of the project is to study the applicability of CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) boards in soft land harvesting. Half of Finland's bogs have been drained, resulting in more than 5 million hectares of drainage areas in Finland. Over the next 20 years, loggings in Finland could reach as much as 15-20 million cubic meters. Large investments in the forest industry are planned in Finland, which, if implemented, will create pressure to increase year-round timber harvesting. As the climate change continues, milder winters will further prolong hailstorms. New solutions are needed both for the design of stands and for the strengthening of the soil by different methods.
