AGROECOLOGY
The AGROECOLOGY Partnership is a Horizon Europe initiative that brings together the European Commission and 111 partner organisations from 31 countries to accelerate the transition towards sustainable and resilient agricultural systems. Running from 2024 to 2033, the partnership aims to address key challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, food security, environmental sustainability, and the long-term viability of farming.
The partnership supports research and innovation across four main areas: redesigning agroecosystems, developing sustainable agroecology-based value chains, strengthening the role of Agroecology Living Labs and Research Infrastructures, and creating enabling conditions for agroecological transition through policies, incentives, and decision-support tools. A strong emphasis is placed on multi-actor collaboration, bringing together farmers, researchers, businesses, policymakers, and civil society to co-create and implement practical solutions.
By funding high-quality research, fostering innovation, and connecting Living Labs and Research Infrastructures across Europe, the AGROECOLOGY Partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of agroecological practices and contribute to a more sustainable, resilient, and competitive European agri-food system.
