- In 2015, a total of 302,000 tonnes of wood pellets were produced, seven per cent less than in the previous year. Production volume was highest in 2008 at 373,000 tonnes.
- The consumption of wood pellets, based on domestic pellet production, grew by nearly one per cent year-on-year to 240,000 tonnes, and was higher than ever before. Of the total consumption, households and farms accounted for 58,000 tonnes, heating and power plants for 182,000 tonnes.
- Both the exports (+7%) and imports (+29%) of wood pellets increased year-on-year. The import volume of wood pellets was the second-highest on record so far.
