Trade of energywood, 3rd quarter 2018

  • In the third quarter, the average price paid for logging residues was EUR 3.6 per cubic metre in standing sales and EUR 15.6 in delivery sales. In standing sales the price decreased by 10 per cent and in delivery sales increased three per cent compared to the previous quarter.
  • The average price paid for pruned stemwood was EUR 4.0 per cubic metre in standing sales and EUR 24.3 in delivery sales.
  • In all 0.8 million cubic metres of energywood was included in the statistics in the third quarter. Share of logging residues was 48 per cent and share of pruned stemwood 39 percent.

Prices and volumes of logging residues and total energywood in delivery sales for the whole of 2018 and for the third and the fourth quarters of 2018 have been revised 21 May 2019.

The trade statistics are based on the wood prices written into wood trade contracts between buyers and sellers. Other additional pricing components and forest services connected to wood trade are not included in the statistics.

The recorded prices do not include government subsidy and the prices may also be negative. Subsidy payments were rejected 7.5.2016–19.4.2017, after which applications have been accepted again.
