Description

The statistics give information on the prices and volumes of energywood purchased from forest owners for forest chips.

Content

The statistics on energywood trade are compiled by trade method and assortment of energywood. Wood quantities are expressed in cubic metres solid volumes over bark (m³) and prices in euros per solid cubic metre over bark (€/m³). Average prices of energywood assortments are averages weighed by trade volumes, excluding VAT and energywood subsidies to the seller or harvester.

Categories

Standing sales and delivery sales are recorded separately. The statistics include four types of energywood: stumps, logging residues, unpruned stems and pruned stems. Wood procured for the manufacture of forest industry products and fuelwood consumed by small-scale housing are not included in the statistics. The statistics are published four times a year and annually by eight price region.

Information on energywood trade is collected from medium-size and large enterprises buying energywood as well as from forest management associations.

The statistics are compiled quarterly and annually.
