Use of crops on farms, 1 July 2008–30 June 2009

- On-farm grain stocks at the start of the new harvest season stood at almost 900 million kilos.
- During the harvest year 1 July 2008–30 June 2009, the majority of available grain on farms (that is, 2,349.0 million kilos) was sold to trade, industry or other farmers.
- On farms, the majority of grain was used as animal feed.
- During the harvest year 2008–2009, on-farm feed usage increased on the previous year to 1,659.5 million kilos.
