During the harvest year 1 July 2008–30 June 2009, the majority of available grain on farms (that is, 2,349.0 million kilos) was sold to trade, industry or other farmers.
On farms, the majority of grain was used as animal feed.
During the harvest year 2008–2009, on-farm feed usage increased on the previous year to 1,659.5 million kilos.
