Imports and exports of food products
On this page
Due to the small size of our domestic market, exports are a prerequisite for the success of the Finnish food system. Only about 15% of our food production is exported. Finland exports mainly dairy products, beverages, meat and various processed food products. The main imports to Finland are processed food products, fruit and vegetables. Most of Finland's imports and exports take place within the EU internal market.
The Finnish food system has great potential for growth, employment and exports, and the aim is to significantly increase food exports.
