Annual turnover of rural enterprises

The turnover of rural enterprises increased in rural areas close to cities of the whole country and Mainland Finland, in 2019 compared to the previous year. The total turnover of large rural enterprises decreased, while the total turnover of other size class enterprises increased slightly.

The combined turnover of enterprises in rural areas has increased in other provinces except Uusimaa, Satakunta, Häme, South Savo, Central Finland and Lapland from 2018 to 2019. 

The indicator measures the development of the annual turnover of enterprises by business size and type of rural area.

Statistics Finland produces information about the annual turnover of rural enterprises.

This is one of the national impact indicators of the 2014–2020 Rural Development Programme for Mainland Finland.

The indicator will next be updated in spring 2024.
