The number of hunters who paid the game management fee in 2014 was 306 500. Not all hunted, however. A total of 207 000 hunters hunted for small game and deer.
Grouse bag decreased one third and waterfowl bag ten percent from previous year. A total of 137 000 black grouse and 33 000 capercaillies were bagged.
The most usual game species were mallard and artic wood pigeon. A total of 270 000 arctic wood pigeons and 255 000 mallards were bagged.
As regards mammals, the bag of Arctic hare was the largest, i.e. 183,000 individuals. European hare bag totalled 65 000 individuals.
In January 2015 a survey was conducted among 5 400 hunters.
