Egg Production Statistics, Q3 2022

In January-September, 57 million kilos of eggs were produced, which is one per cent less than in the same period last year. In July-September, production was 19.6 million kilos, of which 57% were barn eggs.

  • Egg production was 19.6 million kilos in July-September, which is 2% less than corresponding period of 2021.
  • Of the production in July-September, 57% were barn eggs, 31% eggs from enriched cages, 8% organic eggs and 3% free range eggs.
  • Production in January-September was just over 57 million kilos, which is one per cent less than in the same period last year. Production of A-class barn eggs increased by 28%, organic eggs by 18% and free range eggs by 7%. The production of eggs from enriched cages declined by 29%.
