Crop Production Statistics and the quality of the grain harvest 2018 (advance information)

In 2018, the grain harvest was 2.7 million tons, i.e. 20% lower than in the previous year.

  • Totalling 1.329 million kilos, the barley harvest decreased by 8%, i.e. 131 million kilos
  • Totalling  819 million kilos, the oats harvest decreased by 19%
  • Totalling 498 million kilos, the wheat harvest decreased by 38%, i.e. almost 305 million kilos
  • Totalling 41,000 tons, the rye harvest decreased by 64%
  • The potato harvest, 607,000 tons, corresponded to that of last year
  • The broad bean harvest (28,000 tons) was, almost 28% lower year-on-year

The information will be reported as final in March 2019, when the confirmed data supplied by farms included in the sample will become available for the calculation of harvest volumes.
