Crop Production Statistics and the quality of the grain harvest 2010, advance information

Yield of the main crops 2010 - forecast 23, November 2010:

 

  • The anticipated grain crops, 3.0 million tonnes, would be the lowest in the decade. From last year, the grain crops will decrease no less than 30%. The decrease of crops is mainly attributable to the decreased cultivation area for grains (-16%).

  • The 1.30 million tonnes decrease in the grain crops is mainly in barley (-840 000 tonnes) but the oats crop (-310 000 tonnes) and the wheat crop (-160 000 tonnes) will decrease from 2009.

  • The rye crop was small last year, and this year it will probably increase to 68 000 tonnes (+63%).

  • The turnip rape crop will probably increase 35% while the oilseed rape crop decrease crop 10%. The current anticipated crop for turnip rape is almost 160 000 tonnes and for oilseed rape 20 000 tonnes.
