Access to controlled growth chambers

Research Infrastructures
Two separately reservable controlled indoor growth chambers where environmental conditions can be adjusted.
Enables simulation of climate change.
The higher room allows for tree cultivation.

Conditions can be regulated and data can be comprehensively recorded using Senmatic greenhouse automation in two fully controlled indoor growth chambers. The rooms enable various growth temperatures, humidity balances, intensive cultivation, and climate change simulations (e.g., warmer growth conditions, added carbon dioxide, and humidity variations).

In the larger growth chamber, it is also possible to conduct frost resistance testing of seedlings, short-day treatments, and create, for example, two growing seasons. The room height also allows for tree cultivation.

The service includes access to the platform for conducting research, equipment, and experimental arrangements carried out by professional staff. The service covers platform and equipment preparation, execution of agreed experiments and observations during the trial, sample and data collection, and, if needed, preprocessing in a support laboratory and delivery of results.

Sample collection

Observation of experiments, sample collection, and measurements.

Target groups

Researchers, research groups, research communities, research networks, research projects, research organizations, companies.

Access type

  • Physical, remote or hybrid access.

Service usage restrictions

  • The introduction of plant diseases, pests, and GMO plant material into the research infrastructure area is only permitted in accordance with legislation and through separate case-by-case negotiations.
  • The introduction of harmful invasive species is prohibited, and the import of other non-native species must be agreed upon separately.
  • The use of chemicals must be negotiated separately.
  • Research activities must not cause long-term harm or reduce the usability of the research infrastructure after the actual research period.

Information to support the application

  • Space required for the experiment (m² / number of plants).
  • Special equipment needed.
  • Plant species and substrates used in the experiment.
  • Description of plant care, watering, and fertilization details.
  • Description of experimental treatments, observation collection, and required monitoring data.
