The project seeks profitable solutions for IP and organic onion production in order to reduce severe harvest and storage losses caused by Fusarium fungi.
The project provides information of yield level, disease sensitivity and long-term storage durability of different onion varieties when using onion seedlings instead of onion sets. The project also provides results of the efficacy of biological plant protection products used for the treatment of onion seeds and growing bed. The project develops a rapid detection method for pathogenic strains of Fusarium.
