Future images of Savo's agriculture

The main goal of the project is to create a vision of the sustainable future of Savo's agriculture by also highlighting scenarios and future images that deviate from the mainstream. The project: 1) will create alternative future images of what kind of agricultural production the young people of North and South Savo dream of, 2) will highlight production models that modern cattle farms can use to produce milk and beef as environmentally and resource-efficiently as possible, 3) will create models that support the current better the diversity of the agricultural nature of the project area. The information generated in the project is distributed to the target groups in an up-to-date manner.

A vision of the sustainable future of Savo's agriculture will be created. The vision serves as a stimulus, a basis for discussion and a support for strategic choices, and it has a place for a wide variety of goals, farms, farmers and operating models, all of which point the way to a more sustainable direction than the current one. Agricultural entrepreneurs can use the information provided by the project directly in their business operations. This enables, on the one hand, a more diverse company structure and better opportunities to increase the biodiversity of agricultural environments, but on the other hand, it also enables modern cattle farms to focus on climate-efficient and low-carbon production.
