From breeding to practice - Resilient pine seedlings

In this project we study the frost hardening, growth cessation and root/shoot-allocation of Scots pine seedlings. We study the role and possibilities of tree breeding for these characteristics. Especially in the changing climate, the role of well-developed root systems is crucial to ensure good out-planting and direct seeding results in forest regeneration.
