Alternative materials for food packaging
The packaging is required to be environmentally friendly, durable and functional both during storage, transport and distribution. Luke has researched new packaging material solutions. Now new, technically functional bio-based packaging materials and solutions, as well as their recyclability and biodegradability, are being investigated in cooperation with other actors of the PlastLIFE project.
Various biomass side streams can be utilized in packaging materials, including their fibers. We find out whether the selected material can replace the plastic packaging in use.
