Tools for Environmental Assessment of Forest Products

The project aims to develop useful environmental performance indicators for wood processing industry. It will prepare life-cycle models for industrial and energy wood as well as describes environmental impacts of wood modification, in particular tannin extraction from spruce bark and use as a preservative. The work is done in collaboration with COST FP1407 network and other joint projects.
The project promotes compilation of carbon footprint and environmental product declarations for wood products as well as enviromental performance of novel wood modification tehcnologies
