In this project, we will examine where resources aimed to control the spread of non-native plant species should be allocated in seminatural grasslands. New methods to control for the growth and spread of Lupinus polyphyllus and Sorbaria sorbifolia will be tested.
The project will be performed by the Natural Resources Institute Finland, Finnish Environment Institute and The Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners. The project will produce new information to be used in preventing the growth and spread of non-native species, and when resource allocation for these purposes is considered. This information can be used e.g., by municipalities, Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, and by Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency.
