Organic side-streams into nutrient rich recycled fertilizer products

In ORSIRAKI-project, the production of recycled fertilizer products from composting process are studied.

The aim of the project is that Biopallo Systems Oy and Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) can show that

a) Biopallo process can produce soil amendments and growing media as well as process a granular nutrient rich fertilizer product. The aim is to develop a product family, in which the products are fully based on recycled organic materials and where the additional nutrients originate from side-streams and recirculated nutrient streams of the composting process.

b) the granular product is durable during handling, packaging, storage and fertilizer use

c) there is a solution for the analytical needs of the Biopallo-process

d) life cycle assessment is done for the Biopallo-process and its most common input materials
