Towards the uneven-aged forest management: spatially explicit models as a support tool for best practices

The objective of the project is to develop tools that help practitioners to optimize forest management with sustainable and ecologically
justified strategies. Such tools will include dynamic ecosystem models for stand development and nutrient cycling under different
silvicultural systems forming and maintaining the uneven-aged stands with complex spatial structure.
The main outcome from the project will be recommendations on selection cuttings designs for continuous cover forestry.
